KEYBACH: "Using Google Street View For Destinations"

Whilst certain areas voiced their negative views against Google's new "Street View" imagery service, Oberstaufen, within the Allgäu region, showed a great interest and saw this as an ideal opportunity. Oberstaufen would welcome the idea of having the Google team pass through the town, without any further delay.

Bianca Keybach, the tourism manager of the popular alpine resort, Oberstaufen, points out the advantages of Google Street View for the town, its surroundings and for the potential guest:
"This service can be used as an excellent tool for obtaining information about a destination. From a tourism perspective, this service must be appreciated. To think that people will be able to take a virtual walk through Oberstaufen, worldwide, has to be welcomed".
Google Street View, available throughout the world, gives a location the chance to show its intact tourism and infrastructure, without any effort having to be made: "The images shown are going to inspire people to undertake a journey to Oberstaufen". Of that Keybach is sure.

"Holidaymakers will be able to check out beforehand where their choice of accommodation is situated, and how attractive the towns' infrastructure actually is". In Bianca Keybach's estimation: "The coverage of the public streets will offer advantages to our guests and will open new doors for all hosts and the town. We are a modern, well-placed wellness destination, and should therefore be open to everyone".

Since a few days, on Oberstaufens' Face Book page, things have been catching peoples attention. A large fancy cake, written in icing, "Street View - Welcome to Oberstaufen", can be seen. Also Klaus Hauber, the proprietor of a four star superior Golf and Wellness Hotel explained that the beds are made and the tables are set, ready for the occasion: "It would be a pleasure to invite the Street View team to stay in our Alpine Resort, and be our guests".
